Very large Lawrence Vrba 'heart and bow' brooch
Very large Lawrence Vrba 'heart and bow' brooch
This beautiful brooch could be seen as a companion piece for the heart cuff also listed this week, but it stands just as well alone. A marvel of fantasy, colour and scale it is so well proportioned and the fantastic green givre glass stones work so well with the grey faux pearl and pink rhinestones that it has a brilliant sculptural quality to it. It could be worn as a brilliant alternative to a tie on a buttoned up white shirt or on a chunky sweater come winter... Lawrence Vrba designed fantastic Aztec influence collections for Castlecliff before starting working at Miriam Haskell as head designer in 1970. From 1978 to the present he has had his own label in New York City where he has been enduringly popular, working with many Broadway productions as well as private clients and department stores globally.
