This wonderful Unsigned [no place in the design for the signature!] Lariat style amber and citrine coloured half crystal glass necklace falls beautifully in a heavy cascade of opulent beadwork. The makers Bruno and Lyda Coppola created magnificent and highly distinctive jewellery from their workshops in Milan, from the late 1940s, continuing successfully until the mid Seventies. Highly successful in their own right, both in Europe and in particular the USA, with their own lines, they designed many pieces for the haute couture designers such as Elsa Schiaparelli, Valentino, Pucci, Christian Dior, Yves Saint Laurent, Ken Scott and Roberta di Camerino. This piece designed for Christian Dior would have looked incredible with a formal gown, but can as easily be worn today with a simple wrap over dress or jeans.
