Coppola e Toppo black and clear half crystal necklace 1950s
Coppola e Toppo black and clear half crystal necklace 1950s
The black beads in this necklace wrap around the neck in a asymmetrical pattern that is elegant and a little surprising! Bruno and Lyda Coppola created magnificent and highly distinctive jewellery from their workshops in Milan, from the late 1940s, continuing successfully until the mid Seventies. Highly successful in their own right, both in Europe and in particular the USA, with their own lines, they designed many pieces for the haute couture designers such as Elsa Schiaparelli, Valentino, Pucci, Christian Dior, Yves Saint Laurent, Ken Scott and Roberta di Camerino. This is a quieter example of their 1950s work which means it can be a versatile necklace in a modern context. The crystal used to make these multi strand necklaces is very high quality so after 60 years they still have a wonderful gleam. A very wearable piece.
